REGISTRATION FOR THE FAll 2010 SEASON IS NOW OPEN!!!

Registration is open to children who will turn 3 on or before September 30th, 2010.  The registration deadline for the fall season is August 1st.  Registration is $60 for the 1st child in each household, $25 for each additional child.  There is a late fee of $25 for each registration received after August 1st.

  Late fees will be enforced!!!  Registrations will not be accepted after August 15th!!!

Important Changes for the Spring 2010 Soccer Season

We are making some important changes this season with the hope of making soccer a more rewarding and enjoyable experience for our children.  Most of these changes involve the program for the younger children (younger 1^st grade and below) but there are some new things that we are implementing for the older children as well.  We have high hopes that these changes will have a positive effect on our organization and the children who participate.  Our mission is to build a quality recreation soccer program that is both fun and educational for all of the children involved.

I am still finalizing the specifics of these changes but everything will be ready to go when our season starts next month.  I will be scheduling a parents meeting before the start of the season for but in the mean time, if you have any suggestions, questions or comments please feel free to contact me via e-mail or phone.  I will do my best to respond to you as quickly as possible.

At this time we do still have openings on our 5^th/6^th grade team and in our instructional program so if you have a child that still wants to participate there is time to get them signed up.  Our 1^st/2^nd grade and 3^rd/4^th grade teams are full at this time.  We will not have a 7^th/8^th grade team this season due to lack of interest.

Younger Children (young 1^st grade down to 3 years old) 

We have opened this program up to children born on or before 9/30/2006 and we are going to be implementing an in-town instructional program for these age groups.  The goal is to wind up with 3 groups within this program so that children will be playing for the most part with other children they will be entering kindergarten with.  Soccer cutoff dates do not run concurrent with the school cutoff dates so there will be some exceptions.  This program will consist of practice time with a parent coach and age appropriate professional instruction in the form of a specific curriculum and/or instruction by a professional trainer.  We will also be providing educational opportunities for coaches and parents.  During the 2^nd half of the 8 week season we will schedule small sided scrimmages against teams of the same age group.  The main goal of this program is for the children to have fun and learn some basic skills.  Children participating in this program are required to wear shin guards but soccer cleats are not necessary.

1^st graders who meet the age cutoff to play on the 1^st/2^nd grade team (born on or before 7/31/03) may be placed with either of our 2 programs.   A decision as to which program these children will play in is made based first on space on the team and secondly input from the parent.  Not all children develop at the same pace nor do they all have the same desire to play in a competitive environment. 

Older Children (older 1^st grade and above)

These children will still be competing within the SCYSL or Hampton Soccer Club as we have done in the past.  We will be bringing in age appropriate, professional instruction to the program with the goal of helping to develop the children’s skills and self confidence while still keeping a fun atmosphere to our program.  We will also be providing educational opportunities for coaches and parents. It is my hope that these changes will create an all around more positive experience for players, coaches and their families.
