ATTENTION 3RD – 8TH GRADE BOYS AND GIRLS
“NOT A SCHOOL SPONSORED EVENT”
2010-2011 SEASON
The
Stillwater Recreation League offers a positive learning experience for
all future basketball players.
The primary goals are to improve skills, understand how to
function as part of a team and to have fun!
Practices
will start at the beginning of November.
Your coach will call you with practice times and locations.
There are usually two practices
per week. In January your
child will play in “League Games” on Friday night or Saturday, until the
middle of March. There are
usually 8 – 10 league games per team.
Every effort is made to have each child play half a game if the
team counts allow. If
repeated absences from practices become a problem, play time is then
reduced and is at the coach’s discretion.
The
Recreation League schedule does not conflict with the Kittatinny 7th
and 8th grade basketball program, therefore players can do
both activities. Please
note, however, that the recreation program begins earlier than the
Kittatinny basketball team try outs.
To be part of the Stillwater Recreation Basketball program you
must register at this time.
Once teams are set, no late registrations can be accepted.
Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders can join our six
week instructional clinic, which begins in later January.
Registration forms will be distributed in November.
Please do not include them in our family registration, at this
time. The Kindergarten, 1st
and 2nd grade program is separate.
We are
always looking for some more volunteers to insure the continuance of
this program. If you can
offer any help, no matter how little, it would be appreciated by your
child, friends, and community.
Ideas, suggestions, and a helping hand are always welcome.
Please
complete the attached registration form and mail it back no later than
Oct. 9, 2010. It is
necessary to have the forms back by then, so that teams, practice
scheduling, and game scheduling can be completed as soon as possible.
A small portion of the registration fee will be put towards a
scholarship fund for three graduating Kittatinny seniors.
NO LATE REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
